The Fruit of the Vine

As April comes to a close, we see the colors of the spring tulips blooming.  The beauty of the flowers and seeing the new growth are signs of warmer days. The planting for the upcoming summer months will be in full effect as our CBC 22nd Annual Plant Sale takes place next weekend. Many of us have ordered our favorites and looking forward to experimenting with some new varieties.

Just as we are preparing for the flowers, plants, vegetables and fruit vines, let’s also see ourselves in preparation for the future. We often prepare for the physical needs with body conditioning, exercising and stretching. There’s nothing like a nice walk when the temperature is perfect. The bible speaks of our bodies in Romans 12:1 as “presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” Also, in 1 Corinthians 6:20, “For you were bought with a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

We are connected to God and made in God’s image. The privilege and beauty of being in God’s image provides us with unique ability to produce fruit that reflects God.

This Sunday, the message is titled, “I Am the True Vine” taken from John 15:1-8. Come in person or via our YouTube https://cbcwarrenville.org/live-stream/  or   CBC Warrenville – YouTube. Let’s hear what God has for us on this Fifth Sunday of Easter through the fruit found in God’s Word.
