Rev. Annette Owen, M. Div, Pastor

Rev. Annette Owen holds a Masters of Divinity Degree from the University of Chicago and degrees in English and Religion from Denison University in Ohio.  She has previously served as a pastor of a Baptist church and as a hospital chaplain in Dallas. During her time serving in the Americorps VISTA program, she discovered her passion for helping others to see themselves as agents of change in their communities. Pastor Annette works to bring her love of the church into deeper conversation with a call to community engagement.

Sue Pastorek, Director of Music

Sue Pastorek has been the Director of Music at Community Baptist Church since 1991.  She directs the Sanctuary Choir, Joyful Noise Bell Choir, Children’s Choir and Eternal Sonshine Praise Band, as well as providing piano and organ music for our worship services.  Sue recently retired from teaching Elementary and Middle school vocal and general music in the Indian Prairie School District for 38 years.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from North Central College in Naperville. Sue is also involved in a number of other activities and ministries at CBC and sings in the Fox Valley Festival Chorus in Aurora.  She resides in Oswego with her daughter Amy.

Karyn DeBoer, Church Administrative Assistant

Karyn DeBoer has been working at CBC since 2007 as the church administrative assistant. Karyn comes from a background in real estate where she worked as a Private Bank Closer.  She really enjoys working at CBC, where she is very dedicated to working with and for the members of the congregation.
