World Communion Sunday

As we end September, I am trying to hold onto this summer just like the weather. I just know that our days are getting shorter and the fall days are coming soon.

During this last week of September, it has been a wonderful joyful connection with the newest families of the Agapè Preschool. The curriculum evening highlighted the strength of the Agapè Preschool program and the connectivity with the families.

Our church’s linkage to the community through this program for the past 47 years and its historic past continue to be reflected in the beautiful memories being shaped today in the hearts and minds of the children.

We hosted Faith in Place during a presentation for congregations throughout the area on this past Wednesday with several churches represented. Some of the churches have established “Green Teams” with focusing on leading the way for youth empowerment, water preservation, sustainable food and land use, as well as advocacy. CBC was represented by members of the Property & Finance Team.

On this coming Sunday, October 1, we will celebrate World Communion Sunday along with other churches around the world. The first Sunday of October is when Christians in every culture break bread and pour the cup to remember and affirm Christ as the Head of the Church. This very special day we recognize that we are part of the whole body of believers.

Let’s come together as one body in Christ and celebrate World Communion Sunday. The message will come from Ecclesiastes 3 and is appropriately titled “God’s Timing” for such a time as this.
