It is Labor Day Weekend, and for some, this is the last chance to get away before Summer “closes down shop” for the year. Labor Day is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
Perhaps that does not seem all that spiritual; but it is good for us as God’s people to be thankful for the jobs and employment the Lord has provided for us. Also, for those who are retired, it enables us to take care of the needs we have both as individuals and as families.
If you are in or previously had a job you enjoy, then not only are your financial needs provided for, but also, many of your spiritual needs are taken care of as well! Philippians 4:19 says; “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” You can experience great happiest when you recognize God as the source of your blessings!
In another scripture, the Lord reminds us that we must keep God first in all we do and as a result of doing so, our needs are taken care of as well; “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Let us express our gratefulness for what God has supplied, as well as a heart of Praise for all the things God WILL provide in the future!
