We have reached the halfway point of 2024, and all-around CBC it is a season of great compassion, gracious giving, and purposeful living.
These summer months are filled with joyous and exciting moments. It is a special time when children are running and playing throughout the day, while learning new things. Another joy of summer is when grandchildren get to spend extra days with grandparents. Growing up for baby boomers meant taking trips and going to family reunions, making new discoveries, learning to ride a bike, throwing a baseball for the first time and spending time outdoors. Summer seems to go by just as quickly as it comes and returning to school in the next grade was an opportunity to make new friends, as well as share stories with old friends about the summer activities.
Looking back is helpful in contemplating and planning for the future.
In reaching this halfway point of this year, it is a perfect time to reflect on God’s blessings and how God continues to bless us… Better Year, Better You and a Better Church. Colossians 1:10 NLT “Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.” In a recent conversation, it was heartwarming to hear of the noteworthy experiences with this being a Better Year, Better You and Better Church. What was most significant in the sharing or maybe the self-assessment was the recognition of becoming a BETTER witness. As I smiled, the Holy Spirit was yet at work in the BETTER relationship with the unique names of God and how this resulted in a BETTER You.
As a result of our first six months, is there something that has been meaningful for you? Much like returning to school and the summer excitement, our CBC congregation is full of stories that must be shared. Would you be willing to share your thoughts with others? After all, we are in a season of great compassion, gracious giving, and purposeful living.
This Sunday message is the next installment of “Lord Teach Us to Pray” – “GOD’S HOLINESS.” In the Lord’s Prayer we pray these words, “Hallowed Be Your Name.” There are multiple scriptures including Exodus 20:7, Psalm 24:1, Psalm 99:9, and Revelation 3:15-16 that will aid in our message.
Looking forward to seeing you in worship… join either in-person or online via Livestream: https://cbcwarrenville.org/live-stream/
Enjoy these longer days and the upcoming 4th of July holiday.
