Honoring Fathers

Warm Greetings!

As we begin the summer months, graduations are taking place and our (grand)children are beginning to enjoy the few months with outdoor family gatherings.

Just before we get into vacations and the busier times of the season, I want to begin this month with the celebration of Fathers by inviting you to our service on Sunday, June 16th. As you may know, this will be Father’s Day, and we will do our best to recognize and appreciate Fathers. While there are many challenges that we could never have imagined just a few years ago as parents and grandparents, I am forever grateful for both my parents and their love for our family.

During our upcoming Father’s Day services, we will be taking some time during the service to honor the Dads in attendance, and we will give a gift to all Dads in attendance. We realize that, just like Mother’s Day, this is not always an “easy” day for everyone, yet we do believe it is still important to “give honor where honor is due.” We want to include all the Dads and those special Father figures names and encourage you to share their names for inclusion in our special presentation. You may send those names to Robyn at [email protected] by Tuesday, June 11th.

On another note, June is Gun Violence Awareness Month and in support of this effort, everyone is invited to wear orange between June 7-9. See more below on the Wear Orange initiative that began in Chicago after the death of Hadiya Pendleton.

Finally, we will begin our Summer Sermon Series focused on PRAYER this coming Sunday with the first installment from Luke 11 and Proverbs 30 with “The Prayer of Agur.” There is a Word from the Lord, especially for us and I am excited to share what God has given me for CBC.

Be sure to join us in worship either in person or from wherever you may be throughout the summer months. Our Sunday Worship is available via Livestream: https://cbcwarrenville.org/live-stream/
