In just the first 19 days of January, how quickly we are now approaching the final days for this first month of the New Year. So far, what has been your biggest story and your most life changing moment? As I continue to reflect on the thoughts and directions that is filled with multiple stories, I stand in awe of what God continues to do.
During a recent conversation, a dear friend expressed how different this year seems to be with some health challenges and the need for lifestyle changes. My question was “What will you do differently?” The response was an interesting answer that seemingly became a well thought out reaction. This comment, “re-think my story”, offered me an observation that may help others.
When you have been diagnosed and provided meaningful information that can help you, it is important to prayerfully consider how to use what you have learned.
In our period of CBC transition, the Transition Team has meticulously captured information that will be meaningful and helpful for CBC to “re-think its story.”
Thanks to Transition Team members, there have been hundreds of hours spent in meetings and assessing the Five Developmental areas of Heritage, Mission, Leadership, Connections and Future. This information along with congregational input has been captured in the Transition Team Recap Report.
As part of this process, the information from the Transition Team Recap Report has been utilized in the creation of the CBC Profile that is now available for the Pastoral Search Team.
It is my prayer that we continue to “re-think our story” with our North Star statement, trusting in God (Proverbs 3:5-6) for the decisions and praying for God’s direction.
What is the CBC story as the church enters its 190th year and embarks on its next year? What is your story and how is your story connected with the relationships of others?
This Sunday we will continue in the sermon series “BETTER” and the focus on “Relationships” with scripture references from Mark 1, Proverbs 12 and 1 Corinthians 13.
Let’s join together and hear what the Lord is saying to us and see what the Lord is doing now!!
