The anticipation of Christmas Day comes with lots of excitement for young and old. We all look forward to seeing the smiles on children’s faces as they unwrap the gifts from under the tree. As a result of your financial and volunteer support, many families in our community will be able to smile as they receive the gifts through the Christmas Sharing Program.
While the joy of Christmas sometimes brings pain with the loss of loved ones during this season. The days are shorter, and the nights are longer with the gloominess of the colder weather. There are also those who would dread this time of year as it brings up memories and causes periods of depression.
May our hearts be filled with compassion for one another and be mindful of the experiences that others may be going through. It is in this Advent season that is also filled with miracles as we reflect of the virgin birth. It is the reminder during our second week of Advent, for PEACE.
Just maybe, a kind gesture or a spoken word will bring PEACE to someone that needs a miracle… Just maybe, you could be a miracle in this Advent Season and bless someone who has lost HOPE and needs PEACE.
The world really could use some PEACE… so let there be PEACE on earth and let it begin with each of US!!
This next Sunday of Advent will be a special day with the sermon titled “ARRIVAL – PEACE” and we light the candle of PEACE as we relight the candle of HOPE.
Looking forward to seeing you Sunday.
