Greetings, sharing with you from the ABC USA Biennial in San Juan, PR. Delegates from around the country representing their regions and churches that make up our denomination in attendance.
The schedule is busy and filled with a plethora of workshops and speakers reflecting on this year’s theme, “For Such A Time As This.” We are all together in learning from our past and leaning into our future. There’s the presence of God in our conversations and in the fellowship we experience from clergy to lay leaders.
The worship services embrace the many cultures and highlight what makes ABC USA the most diverse denomination in America, including most women in ministry and having various ethnic caucuses. Jeff Woods, the ABC General Secretary stated, “We are a denomination that has equal numbers in political views and are able to come together to support needs around the world.” The ABC USA support for missions in Burma is a powerful testimony to our work and seeing beyond ourselves.
Rest assured, this is a gathering of a collaborative effort and working toward those next areas that lets us live out our mission and purposes of ABC USA. I will share more about the ABC USA Biennial in future conversations and our role as members.
As we welcome Rev. Michelle Hughes back to CBC, this Sunday’s message, “Consequences” will be delivered by our guest minister, Rev. Hughes.
Pastor Frank
