Happy Father’s Day weekend to all who serve in the role of Dad, Brother, Uncle, best friend, role model and confidant.
For some this weekend brings about a mixture of emotions with the unique relationship of Dads. Throughout the multiple generations of Dads, many Fathers relate to each of their children, and differently from one generation to the next and it is quite interesting.
Admittedly, the type of relationship with my fathers generation is totally different than what my sons generation is experiencing and just witnessing the transition can be quite eye opening. Dads tend to carry a lot of internal emotions and a different type of stress which is often maintained through the image of strength with love being expressed through their actions.
As we celebrate this Father’s Day weekend, let’s honor those who are responsible for our lives and those who may have stood in the gap with the absence of a father, as well as the extended Grandpa.
This Sunday we will have a special “Mission Moment” for the One Great Hour of Sharing and take some time to honor the fathers present and remember those who remain in our hearts.
Our Sunday sermon titled, “It’s Time to Share” will be taken from Galatians 6:9-10 and emphasizes our not growing weary of doing good. You are encouraged to bring that special person as we celebrate one another and worship the “Greatest One.”
