Fact or Fiction
Determine if the following statements are true or false

  1. The phrase “separation of church and state” is in the Constitution.
  2. Residents of the American colonies were free to practice whatever religion they wanted without fear of persecution.
  3. Religion is only mentioned once in the Constitution.
  4. Many early Baptists were fined, imprisoned, beaten, or even killed for practicing their beliefs.
