Despite the Pandemic, the American Baptist Home Mission Society (ABHMS) has remained active. Chaplains, many of whom have been overwhelmed by ministry to COVID patients and their families, have been supported via monthly Zoom meetings. Initiatives to encourage innovative ministries have been supported. Research on effective ways of reaching out to younger people has been shared. Scholarships have been granted to American Baptist Students. The work of rebuilding Puerto Rico has continued. Support has been given to Baptist retirement communities, long-term care facilities, children’s homes and community centers. These are only a few of the ministries that benefit from the America for Christ Offering.
The theme for this year is “For the Purpose of Equipping the Saints,” a theme drawn from Ephesians 4:11-13, and focusing on the fact that ABHMS provides resources on Christian Education and provides leadership education. Please consider what God would have you give to this important offering this year.
